Our Low Voltage Design Standard
The Independent Networks Association’s low voltage design standard for electricity networks for new housing developments
Independent Networks Association (INA) members connect around 80% of new homes to energy networks, and we’re pleased to introduce our latest standard for electricity connections in new housing developments. This updated standard embraces advancements in energy efficiency and future technologies like heat pumps and electric vehicles (EVs).
Guiding the design of electricity networks for new housing, this standard uses the latest insights on household electricity usage patterns throughout the day and year.
Operating throughout Great Britain, INA members can now provide developers and network customers with the assurance that their connections will meet their specific requirements. By adhering to this standard, new homes can seamlessly align with the heat and transport policies set by UK Governments.
